I recieved this Wheel Shmitt last week and wanted to give some time in the field before posting a review. I`ve used it on over 20 wheel and tires of various shapes and styles. It is just as comfortable as my Wash ShMitt. I have not once dropped it or had it slide off my hand. It comforms to all types of wheel styles getting in grooves and crevices. I`ve noticed it "conforms" and takes on a shape to mold into the size needed to clean. When it comes to tires, it cleans them more effectively than any brush I`ve ever used. It easily travels into the wheel well making it a snap to clean them up. The ShMitt`s large pores cause a nice foaming action to occur. Clean was so easy due the large pores also. Mine was air dry in one hour. If you do not want to use harsh chemical to clean with, this product will aid in cleaning with you normal wash water.

I recommend this product 100%.

The ShMitt holds so much water....

Even gets into the lug-nut holes....

Hmm...I have been looking for something like this.

I am curious...when I detail cars, I usually spray with water, then spray with a Wheel Cleaner (Meguiars Wheel Brightner) and then go at the wheel with a sponge or something to agitate the brake dust. Could I use this product as a replacement for the sponge?

I try to be careful with anything I use to clean wheel wells due the large amount of grit that can be picked up there. If I`m following your technique, you at least use the Wheel Shmitt on wheels again after it has been cleaned (if you do all the wheels and tires then go back to the wells), or worse, go from wheel/tire to well back to wheel again. Can you elaborate a bit more on how well this device cleans up and what likelihood it has to retain hidden grit that might scratch wheels? It would be hard to see since the device is black.

*I* wouldn`t go dipping my hands in Wheel Brightener. Sooner or later, that`s going to hurt!

I would use brushes in conjunction with Wheel Brightener to keep my hands away from it. Even then I would still probably wear rubber gloves. Wheel acid is not healthy for you.

Inhaling Wheel Brightener is horrible enough already. I wouldn`t touch it either.

I would not use it with WB either. It`s more for maintained wheels. Brightner should be used with a brush.

Agreed.
