Hey all, I got my PC today finally WOOT!

Anyway, I was testing it out on my car with some SSR2 with the white pad it comes with. It did take down some of the swirls (I wasn`t expecting it to anyway), but that`s not the "problem" at hand. The PC seriously like jars my arms. It doesn`t like bounce up and down or anything, but it seriously shakes the **** outta me. It`s where I know that if I wasn`t just testing it in a small spot for 30 seconds that I wouldn`t be able to stand it for hours when I use it for real. Any ideas as to why this is, or is that just how it works? Thanks.

Oh and also, what`s that little spacer in there for? I wasn`t using it (kept it though).

Try using it w/o the handle..... I have never used the handle on mine. Here is a thread that talks about it:

There are more threads about this in the Machine Polishing (http://autopia.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=105) forum, just do a search on vibration or vibrate.

Also, be careful using that white pad that came with the PC, some members have had it come apart on them.

I stopped using it altogether. Yes, I was using the handle, I`ll see if there`s any difference.

Oh, and I`m also going to be using 6.5" lake country pads. Do I need to get a larger counter weight? (using what comes iwth the 7424 stock).

(using what comes iwth the 7424 stock).I really don`t think it will make any difference if you have the 5" or 6" counterweight. I have a 5" weight and use a 5" backing plate and run pads from about 6" to 7.5" w/o any problems. The weights come into play more if you`re using it as a sander:

So will the orange pad w/ SSR2 remove most swirl marks?

I don`t know about that one, but there`s another entitled "How to use the PC for show car results/ 1960 Tuxedo Black Corvette":

It`s pretty good; Mike Phillips gets a little long winded/repetitious, but there are a lot of useful instructions/tips.
