I have multiple clients that would like for me to use Zaino on there cars, rather than lose them I just reordered some ZFX and Z5Pro. The last of the Zaino I had I gave to my uncle last year. Anything I should know. I will test out my possible combo on Wednesday on a black Jetta to see how it goes. Right now I am thinking of going Dawn-Clay-Polish Menzerna FP-Zaino Z5. Of course I can throw in IP as needed. Am I missing anything here.

TIA

make sure you do an ISO wipedown prior to Z5pro.

There`s really NO need to do a wipe down between FPII and Zaino. It`s a wasted step in my experience.

Its a wipedown with Z6 sufficent????

Yes Pat. The Z6 is plenty *and* aids in the application of Z as the applicator glides over the surface easier.

If polishing with anything other than Z-PC Fusion, I recommend doing an IPA (50/50) wipedown.

Having previously done only a Z6 wipedown, not only is it more expensive, but I have had an isolated report of Z5 Pro being dead on the surface after 4 weeks. I polished that car with Menzerna PO106FF.

I also spoke to Sal directly about this and he said the surface has to be oil free (this means polishing oils, too).

Maybe there`s a different reaction with 106FF and I can`t say that I`ve used that and then gone to Z. My experience is with IP, FPII and 85RD and I have done Z applications using either Z1 or ZFX and had no problem with either with NO wipe down. In the instance of using Z1 it was just a single coat. The silver Cayman from the beginning of the summer is still doing just fine.

106FF seems to be the most "oily" of the IP/FPII/85RD/106FF quartet, so it could be that Zaino didn`t want to play nice over it. That said, I usually isa:water after polishing anyway, whether I finish with FPII or 106FF or something else. FWIW, I have never had a problem with Zaino bonding, but since I haven`t tried with isa:water I can`t prove anything. :)

I totally agree.

Spoiled: I also have never had a problem with 85RD or FPII, just 106FF. In the end, the IPA wipedown should solve all.

Sounds good guys, I will make sure to just give it a wipe down to be safe and that should keep everyone happy. I can take an extra 5 min anyway
