Anyone use one? Seems like it would be a neat tool to have but the cost is too much for me. Hundreds to thousands of dollars isn`t likely to happen. I read on a few sites Gloss meters measure the distinctness of image gloss. They can be as simple as a sheet of paper with a graduated scale of thin black lines that you hold up to the paint finish, or as complex as an expensive electronic viewing box.. I`m not sure what the papep is or exactly how it is used.

I think the reference to the paper is talking about holding a piece of paper with lines on it at a 90deg angle to the paint. If you can see the last line on the sheet in the reflection of the paint (being the furthest line from the paint), then that paint reflection is GLOSSY. Same thing if you hold a yardstick to the side of paint which have seen here on this site.

used one (From work) I think you have to have a base line for each car. I had a Black vette and it would max out on it.I would never buy one,it was just a toy.
