Far as I`ve ever read, it is 476s that smells a bit different in a more colorful tin. If it were me, I`d just buy the 476s.

It is the same thing as the 476s according to the people at Collinite, just with added scent.

Some people here think they find functional differences between the 915 and the other Collinite pastes, and I don`t want to :nono them. But the guys at Collinite actually joke about how they only sell it because some people won`t buy an inexpensive wax...they say they don`t use it on their own cars and they get whichever they want for free ;)

So all the paste waxes are the same? Fleetwax, 476s, and Marque? Is the 845 the same as the paste but in liquid form?

I don`t know that I`d say 845 is the same because it "was originally developed for use by electric power companies for protection against high voltage power failure, fires and explosions......" It`s pretty good stuff, but not quite as durable in *my* opinion as the 476.

I don`t know if the Marque is the *exact* same wax, but since the reps at Collinite recommended 476 or Fleetwax over the Marque I never saw a reason to pay extra for it.

This is the answer I got back from an email I sent:

Broadly speaking, 885 and 476 are very close products, 476 being directed to the auto market and 885 to marine and aeronautical. 915 has a higher concentration of brazillian caranuba and brings up a stronger shine. 885/476 is a more durable wax over the 915.

Sounds like the guys at Collinite are being a little more careful about what they say regarding the 915, at least when they`re putting it in a e-mail that might get posted somewhere ;)

FWIW, I always found them nice people to talk with on the phone, very personable and helpful, the sort of people I like to do business with.

It seems like that give alot of different answers out....When I asked them about the most durable wax they had..the told me 915 was the most durable and highest content of carnauba..it was thier highest endurance wax...and it states that on the page also...

If you look at the MSDS sheets...they list 476s...900 mold relaese wax....885...S-238 insulator paste wax in the same family...

915 was alone with no other wax in the family....

845 and 925 were listed as the same also....Insulator and then Fiberglass Boat wax

I don`t know....they are nice people to talk to..but they have to get things straight....

first the tell people 915 is the same as 885...476s..then they retaract that...tell me 915 was the most durable...then they retract that as stated above....

seems like everyone there has different opinions of the products...I spoke to a guy named Mike....

you have to remember that the Collinite waxes have been reformulated for VOC compliance. The formulas have probably been tweaked slightly differently in that process thus making them a bit different from each other.

I use 915 a few years ago a paste wax fairly easy just put on this kinda hard to do though.

Exceptional beading just like the othe Collonite family but 915 is the only on I have used.

So, is 885 the same as 476? or close to the same as far as durability goes?

Is there any better place I should look to get this than here:

They have free shipping.

Thanks!
