I was wondering with all the high end cars out there, I only know for sure that Mercedes is using ceramiclear on their post 06` models. Is there any other manuf. that uses ceramiclear paint?

Thanks

High-end Chryslers. (DaimlerChrysler)

I know some of the new Infinitis have scratch-resistant clear.

Many of the Grand Cherokees and I believe the new commander have DuraClear which is the exact same thing. Don`t know what other models may have it.

Hmm, but the 300C is the highest end Chrysler I know of and it doesnt. Right?

What about BMW?

I can check on the 300C for you next time I talk to my dad, but BMW uses a "slurry powdercoat clear" which has it`s own set of issues.

I am pretty sure the 2006 Buick LaCrosse(at least in Glacier Blue Metallic) has a scratch resistant clear of some sort. Purchased in late December 05` by my grandparents, it has held up through dealer prep, one swirl-omatic car wash(with brushes), and some less than ideal washing tools of my own (pre-autopian), and has very minor swirls and marring(read: virtually none). I look at it under various lighting(under full sun with sunglasses on, halogens at angles, etc.), and still have no reason to do any type of deep polishing to it yet.

I highly doubt it. I have deep polished 3 different 06` Black BMWs, and I find their clear to be very finiky. Doesn`t really finish out well, yet doesn`t correct well either. The softest MF will leave marring.

My dad`s `06 300C has ceramiclear. It`s not noted in the jams (like Mercedes with the "C" in front of the paint code), but after about 12-15 automatic washes since new, his paint has light marring, if that.

I`ve been hearing this. Not to steer this off topic but what polishes did you use? What kind of towels?
