I have a 2002 Black Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V. The paint has tons of swirl marks and scratches. I have to say the combo I used went pretty well as it was my first time trying the PC7424 and my first time really detailing the exterior of the car. Below are my steps:
Wash with Meguiars NXT
Clay using Clayman
Wash with Meguiars NXT
LC Orange Pad @6k rpm with Menzerna IP
LC White Pad @6k rpm with Menzerna FPII
LC Red Pad @6k rpm with Menzerna FTG
2 layers of Collinite 845
Review of products:
Menzerna IP did dust on me, but I was using it in direct sunlight. I would say it got rid of 90% of the swirls. There was some sap and bird poop etch marks that I could not get rid of, but it did make it look a lot less obvious. The problem is that they may be too deep to get rid of using a PC, but I will try once more at a later time. However, I am happy with the results because it was my first time using a PC.
Meguiars NXT leaves the car slick and suds a lot. It also makes the car look shiny.
Collinite 845 is great. After two layers of it, the car looks very shiny and has a nice wet look. Also, it beads like crazy. I am definitely happy with this wax and hope it lasts a long time like the people say.
I also used Excel’s Monterey Waffle Weave Drying Towel and the Elite Polishing Towel (the new one). I am impressed with how well the Monterey WW dry and the feel of it. It is definitely an improvement over the Absorber. I get almost no streaks and only have to wring the towel once. The Polishing towel is also great because it is so plush and soft. It took off the Menzerna polishes with ease. Excel’s MF towels are A+ in my book.
I will probably polish one more time to get the remaining 10% of swirls and try to lighten or get rid of some the etch marks, but overall I am happy with the results I got from Menzerna, Collinite and the other products I used. Not only does my car look better, I feel better too. It did take me about 10 hrs, but it was all worth it.
I got a few pictures after I washed and clayed the car, but did not take any after pictures because it was late about 8pm when I finished polishing and waxing. The next day it rained too. :wall I did take pictures of it beading. I will get more pictures up later when the weather improves. Hope this helps anyone and any input is always helpful!
Preping the car for polish (I know it`s sunny, but I don`t have a garage)

Close up of hood after the wash and clay and wash. It has a ton of etching and little paint straches from the highway commute I do everyday.

Next day with the water beading. Gotta love the collinite 845.
