Not the best before and afters for depicting the polishing. After looking at it more yesterday, I should have gone more aggressive, but I figured that could wait for the spring since all I want to do now is build a layer of protection for the winter.

Yeah I know I`m not the best photographer, but here are a few before n after`s. The key note is that the afters are about 4 weeks after! LOL

Process:

Wash and clay with Detailing Dynamics Clay

Polish horizontal surfaces with Menzerna IP and orange pad via cyclo (Hood was swirl city after I got it back from the body shop last year...Yeah I know I just haven`t had time). Several passes needed on the hood and rear deck as I had a ton of water etching.

Followed everything up with Menzerna FPII and green pad via cyclo. You`ll notice that I didn`t get too crazy with the front bumper as it is rock chip city and will be taken care of shortly.

Diamondite 3 step cleaner on glass (Done a few weeks after initial polishing)

2 coats of Zaino Z5 Pro, another Z5 pro a week later and today was a coat of Z2

Mequires High Endurance on the tires

Didn`t have time to polish the wheels with a lil wheel wax, but that will be coming shortly.

Here are some befores afters and a few other shots I took today.

Unfortunately, I tend to run out of steam pretty quickly and didn`t have the energy to hit the engine compartment despite it needing it very badly due to the open scoop. I just have some minor engine dress up mods including Samco Hoses, Pi-Thon Locks, 350Z carbon fiber engine cover, some grounding gear, and the driver side battery (brake fluid) cover.

Eventually I will get someone to take some rolling shots as the center of the wheels get darker when it`s moving. They are black chrome and never really show up as well in photos. For these pics, they were just washed as I didn`t have time to hit them up with a lil wheel wax prior to getting the urge to take some pics.

Nice car! The zaino looks nice on the black. What mods does it have?

19" RH Pro J8 in SBC (Super Black Chrome - Limited Edition finish) with Toyo T1S 9" front 10" rear

RE short throw shifter

JWT clutch and lighter flywheel

Tein basics coilovers

stillen sways

Crawford high flow cats

Stillen true dual exhaust

craford plenum custom powdercoated gloss black (Was supposed to be black chrome to match wheels but the guy screwed it up)

Gordgee Grounding Wires

Stillen lower valance inserts (Originally black chrome but the kept rusting so I had them powdercoated with the plenum)

350Z CF engine cover

Blue Samco Hoses with annodized Pi-Thon locks

Brembo cross drilled rotors with Project Mu NS pads

Data Sytems grill

UTR front and rear eyelids

CF mirror overlays (Now faded but the company sent me anew pair which I haven`t installed yet)

4080 (Fiberglass box that fits into the drivers side rear corner) with JL 10W6 powered by JL 500/1

Diamond plate floor mats (Shows only)

Completely debadged (Soooooooooooooooo much easier to clean) I doubt I will ever have a badged vehicle again)

Custom fabricated hood (Stock hood with scoop molded in)

I think that`s about it. When I first got the suspension installed I had it slammed to the lowest setting and it looked amazing, but it was ubearable for driving around town so I raised the front a bit and kept the rear as low as it would go.

The front bumper is killing me with the rock chips so I just can`t wait until the new one arrives.

Only other thing I want to do is black out the headlights so I am just waiting to come across an extra set cheap. It`s a major PITA to open the headlights, but looks great when it`s done. I would love to do the 06 headlights with the projectors, but they did away with the clearence strip light on the side which I like.

Thanks for the feedback!

D - I took them apart once before and they just gave me trouble. I am hoping that the next time it goes smoother!

As for the pics, I always admire peeps who can take great shots so I try to look at their photos and try to bite off some of their style. Eventually, I will find someone that is willing to teach me more or I`ll just take a class. I know my camera, as basic as it is, has alot more potential then what I can currently do with it. lol

Thanks for all the feedback!

did you do it alone?? you def need two people for this project, it took me about 4hrs total, it just takes time bc you have to bake, then bake some more and then more, other than that to me it was an easy mod, theres a really good DIY at driver

Nah had 2 other people and used heat gun method. I may try baking it when I go to do it. The heat gun took forever! The process is simple but requires alot of patience which I tend not to have! LOL It is def time consuming!!!!
