I had to put my car in the shop today, the new a/c compressor I had installed in early June was leaking so we used my son`s car today. We were on our way home, in the left lane and we were slowing down for stopped traffic in the left lane when I looked in my rear view mirror and realized the Honda behind us wasn`t going to be able to stop. Before I could even say anything to my son so he could brace himself, she hit us and knocked us into a small truck in front of us.

We seem to be fine and so did everyone else, plus at least she had insurance and got a ticket for following too closely so the insurance payoff should be a slam-dunk.

His Cavalier is definitely totalled though.

Glad you and ur son are ok Scott. Looks like a bad wreck, same thing happened to me a few months back, luckily I only got some light scuff marks on my bumper.

Any thoughts on a replacement for him?

Heck, buy the car back for $200 and pound out the hood and he`s good to go! Glad everyone made it out OK.

glad to hear everyone was ok. not to sound litigation happy or anything, but definitely do NOT sign a release or waiver regarding you or your son`s health state yet. problems can turn up days or weeks later and you don`t want to be stuck paying the bills. :)

Yeah, definitely not signing anything yet. We both feel fine now, even went running earlier this evening. Still, you never know. My son said it felt like getting hit from behind by a linebacker.

A very strong ditto on not letting anyone rush you into signing off on anything. Insurance companies love to hurry you up, but don`t let that bother you. Some symptoms take some time to show up. When I was rear-ended long ago, I felt mostly fine until I tried to sleep that night. I`ve had other injuries that I didn`t realize the full consequences of until some time later, especially how easily they can cause life-long arthiritis. Get thoroughly checked out and give some time for any problems to make some kind of appearance.

That is really the pits Scott. Glad that you`re both ok and weren`t obviously injured. Paradigm and Velobard are right on in saying to go to your doctor to both get checked out. I was a passenger in a car that was rear ended 13 years ago and I initially felt fine but the next day had a very sore neck. Went right to the doctor and got checked out and was told I had mild whiplash. Don`t sign anything, I know we don`t have to tell you as you`re one smart man but hey we care about you guys!

Good you`re both ok.

Too bad about the car...I`m sure you loved the gas mileage in that one...Are you guys gonna take back the chrome hubs :lol (just teasin`)?

What kind of small trucks are you looking in to?

Bummer Scott - glad to hear you`re ok. Crazy that your car was in the shop the day you guys got hit. Let us know how the payoff works out, best of luck.
