I have a Mother`s Powerball I use for cleaning out the tailpipe ends & it looks like hell. The metal shaft doesn`t seem to detach so I can`t see machine washing it.

Is there a good way to clean these? Seems a shame to throw it out now, it still works well.

Hand clean it in a bucket of soapy water.

would you use the powerball to polish chrome wheels?

It polishes everything from aluminum to the kitchen sink but says nothing about chrome. So I`m not sure but guess it would be ok to use for that. WWW.mothers.com

The ball part does come off the shaft. There is a nut in there I believe. I just clean mine with good ole` Dawn. Just wash the hell out of it. It`s not rocket science.

I use a mf applicator when I polish my wheels and I just thorw it in a bucket with some soap and water and let it soak for a bit. Then I wash it out with the hose. It comes clean really quick and doesn`t have any stains. I would probably try the same thing with the power ball
