Help downloading music to my phone?

I got my first music phone (VX8500 aka Chocolate) need help with downloading songs. Verizon seems to nickle and dime you for everything, but they offer



Music Essentials Kit includes $30:



Music Manager and USB Driver Software

USB Cable

Stereo Headset with Call/Answer/End



or just a card reader for the Micro SD card $25.



What`s the best way to download songs? I use itunes but the phone doesn`t support those files.

Thanks for the link Eliot. I spent two hours on the forum learning about my new phone LV 8500 aka Chocolate. I`m still trying to figure out Bitpim and some of the acronyms but it`s really cool. I just found out that they may be providing firmware to activate the speakerphone on the Chocolate. Now I`m really excited!!! Thanks again for the link.
