Good Morning,

I just want to start off by thanking Scottwax, as this client was referred to me from him.

I arrived to the client at 9am yesterday morning to detail these two domestics. Upon initial review, I surely had my work cut out for me :). I began with the SS.

The bright red color was a bit faded/oxidized. I knew (from ZaneO`s) that this paint should absolutely be dripping and bold in color. The swirls were "moderate" and the lower panels and wheels were covered in tar, brake dust, and other bonded contaminants. My finals were:

-Dawn Wash

-Zaino Z18 Clay with Dawn Wash as lube

-TOL Tire Cleaner cut 50/50 on tires/wells

-P21s Wheel Cleaner x 2 on chrome wheels

-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut/ Optimum Car Polish (50/50) via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1700 rpm (x2 on hood)

-Blackfire Finishing Polish via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1400 rpm

-Zaino Z6 wipedown

-Zaino Z5 Pro by hand

-Zaino ZPC and #0000 Steel Wool on wheels/exhaust, then Z8 to wipe down

-Zaino Z16 on tires (x4 :D)

-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

This picture was taken 3 hours after completed (was working on the HHR)...Call it lighting, but I think the look enhanced over the time

I was able to remove 99% of the marring/swirling on every part of the car but the hood/trunk lid. I stepped in a little harder on those two (2 passes of compound and polish), but they didn`t want to come 100%. In the end, I was still happy with the results and the owner was stunned. He asked if he should "put it in a case, now".

Next up, HHR.

Next up, Chevy HHR, in lavender.

I believe the owner does a lot of driving as there was quite the bug cemetary on the nose of this vehicle. The tar and bonded contaminant level was HIGH. I went through half a clay bar on this vehicle. Luckily, underneath it all, it was in pretty decent shape.

The swirls only existed on the hood (:nixweiss) and were not that bad. There was some hologramming on the passenger side from a repaint and the rest of the vehicle was in *very* nice shape. I spend most of my time making sure everything was clean, in the realest sense of the word. My finals were:

--Dawn Wash

-Zaino Z18 Clay with Dawn Wash as lube

-TOL Tire Cleaner cut 50/50 on tires/wells

-P21s Wheel Cleaner on wheels

-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut/ Optimum Car Polish (50/50) via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1700 rpm on hood

-Optimum Car Polish/ CK RMG (50/50) via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1400 rpm

-Zaino Z6 wipedown

-Zaino Z5 Pro by hand

-Zaino Z16 on tires (x3)

-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

Excellent on both but that Camaro.... :bow

Thanks for doing such good work, that is why when anyone on other boards ask about a detailer in your area, you are the top of the list to recommend. :)

Jeezus -I had to turn down the brightness setting on my monitor!

Both look great, but the SS looks completely different.

Did the SS make you miss (momentarily) the red Teg?

I`ve used ZPC on polished wheels 3-4 times now with a flitz ball, and topped with Z5Pro.

It does a decent job on marring, and lays down a brilliant `eye pleasing` finish.

I plan to continue treating polished wheels this way.

Thanks for sharing your talent with us. I love your posts.

Man, my Camaro is definitely jealous!

How was using the rotary on the plastic rear bumper?

Thanks everyone :).

Scott: Likewise! I do appreciate it.

John: Yep :(. I kept doing double takes on the paint all day (when working on the HHR). I really love the look of well detailed red.

Thanks for the tip regarding ZPC on chrome the other day. It`s one of the most successful chrome cleanups I`ve done.

Thomas: No more befores, sorry. I only took closeups with the flash to highlight marring and of the rear bumper (tar). The car was full of dew when I arrived and once I get crankin`, I usually don`t stop.

The HHR paint is pretty good. I feel it`s a bit softer than the past GM vehicles (read: SS, Corvette, Tahoe) I`ve done, but the OP level is low, the color is deep, and the swirls don`t really accumulate.

Zane: I hope so! j.k

It was interesting. On the horizontal part (lots of marring), I had to brace it; it wanted to jump around, but the other parts went fine. I was happy how well the paint cleaned up.
