An old neighbor found me detailing in her moms garage and told me of a co-worker that wanted a detail. So he called me yesterday and i detailed it today.

I would still be working on it if it wasn`t for a friend of mine who came to help

( THANKS FRANK !!!!!!!!!!! )

So, another abused vehicle, paint was like sandpaper and the interior had 6 years of baseball and football players in and out of it. Plus the owner is a Real estate agent so she has signs and stuff in and out of it. I did my best with some of the real hard to reach areas in terms of cleaning the carpet. maybe you guys can provide me with some tips.

So, i tried to split up the duties so that the detail would go fast and easy.

I washed and he worked and the wheels / tires / wheel wells. I vacuumed and he clayed.

I worked on the carpets and he worked and the dash, door panels, etc..

I polished and he worked on the mats. I waxed while he worked on windows and dressing the interior. Took us about 4 hours or so.

Here goes,

Exterior

Wash - Meg`s GC shampoo

Clay - Meg`s Clay

Polish - SSR2.5/IP ( 70/30 ) via PC yellow pad

Wax - Megs Liquid # 26 via PC white pad

Windows - Stoners

Wheels / tires / wheel wells - Simple green and dressed with Megs Hotshine

Interior

Vacuum

LGCM with bissell solution and simple green as spot treatment.

Woolite for dash and door panels, dressed with Meg`s trim and dash foam

I asked frank, lines or triangles, he picked lines, after seeing the drivers floor, i resorted back to triangles :nana:

Amazing turn around, both on the interior and exterior!

Do you think you would have been able to get some of the tougher stains out with the LGCM if you had a stronger solution maybe like Folex or something? Im going to head out and buy a LGCM when there`s no tax this Sat/Sun. And what exactly is the Bissell solution? Just Shampoo for the carpets?

Great work!

Nice work- did you try taking the seats out? I`ve found minivans are really easy to do once you take the seats out- there`s nothing stopping you. The outside looks much much better- I bet they were pretty happy with their car!

this is what i use.

I have not tried other cleaners, so i couldn`t tell you if i would be able to get them cleaner.

I`m sure it is possible. Might have to look into something else.

The 2nd row of seats were on tracks and did not come out, i spent about 15 minutes trying to remove the 2nd and 3rd row seats, no dice.

I have been working at dealers for 5 years now and my buddy was a tech for about 10 years, we couldn`t figure it out.

Not like the newer ones ( last 2-3 years or so ) where they just pull right out

Much improved! You might want to find a good spot cleaner, should help on the deeper stains. I`ve found that when I used a LGCM, I still had some areas I had to spot clean and aggitate.

Paint looks really good! :)

BTW, your pics are why I charge more for minivans than anything else. They almost are always that nasty.

Nice turn around! The second row should come out with no problem other than being heavier than hell but the third row is on a track and doesn`t come out without some disassembly.

Scott: I`ve never had the inside of a car of mine look like that. You`d find my van a joy to detail.;)
