I recently offered to help clean up my roommate`s parent`s classic TA as they were going to be getting it appraised and ready to sell. This was something I was going to do just as a favor to them so I didnt go for a full detail. This was just an effort to clean up the paint of a LOT of swirls and watermark etching. No interior, no rims/tires (the tires were almost rotting out from sitting so long).

The car had been repainted a few times in it`s life by previous and the last paint job is not a good one, but I wanted to tackle it just to see how much better I could make it. The paint was hard and there is still swirls left in it, but at least the camera doesnt show it :o

A good reminder as to how much more I have to learn.

Process:

Washed with Megs Gold Class

Polished with a WG Orange Light Cut pad and Megs DACP #83

Followed with SSR2.5 to tackle more swirls on a WG Orange

Touched up in spots with SSR1 on a WG White Polishing pad

Waxed with PC and a WG grey finishing pad and Megs NXT Tech Wax

Before shots (Some you need to look real close to see the etching)

If anyone is interested, it`s still for sale (I get a finders fee if I find them a buyer!) I dont know exact specs on it, but I can find out if anyone is interested :secret

Thanks for looking!

Ack, Sorry about that everyone.

Location is in Bend, Oregon

Price I am not positive on, but I beleive it was appraised at around $16,000.

Almost everything on the car is original and in very good condition (except for the paint which could be better, and the tires as I previously mentioned).

Feel free to ask any questions and I can get the specifics for you. (will need to check on price).

That`s about as good as that nasty paint job is going to get. :)

$16,000 eh? Just imagine what a `73 SD455 goes for!
