thoughts on Finish Kare products?

I`ve seen a few posts of people using FK 425 the QD, and mentionings of other products, can someone fill me in on what products they are using, I guess I`m a collector of products now that I`ve become an autopian and sometimes I just try certain lines of products on certain cars etc..I checked out their website and they offer a TON of products, anyone mention any highlights?

Really like 216 easy to use and leaves the paint nice and clean/shiny. 108 is very nice for the interior, 118 is a nice car wash, 425 is a great QD. I have a bunch of other`s, but have not gotten to them yet.

I have used alot ot the fk stuff lately and I love there stuff! This is what I got.



118 car wash

1016 wash and wax( my favorite car wash ever)

121 ultimate cleaner

336ng high gloss polish

215 all in one polish

216 wet and slick claze and sealer(carnuba style)

217 glaze and sealant(my absolute favorite product!!!!)

2180 sealant

1000p high temp synthetic wax/sealeant(adds another layer of clear)

I absolutely LOVE FK`s Pink Wax, it gives a glow that I find really hard to duplicate with other carnubas. Natty`s Blue doesn`t hold a candle to it looks wise, IMHO, and it also lasts quite a while. Smells like gasoline, PITA to apply by hand, but if you breathe through your mouth and apply via PC the results are great. It`s hands down my go to on almost all my details now, the only other LSPs I find really worth using are Souveran on blacks and reds, and FK2180 on silver topped with Aquawax.

My FK must-haves are

Pink Wax

1000p hi temp wax (not so much a must-have for me, hard to remove)

2180 (although right now I`m liking the Duragloss sealants)

FX-100

and my two absolute favs

146 and 425

I have been alternating layers of PW and FX-100 and topping weekly with Aquawax. Amazing!!

I also tried some of the glazes, 303 comes to mind but I really didn`t notice any improvement. User error possibly?

Would love to hear from those who have used the 336ng finishing polish. Any comments? How much did it correct? What pad did you use?

The Fx100 spray glaze is nice, as is the 425 QD and the Decontamination kit works well, as does the anti-static car wash.



Haven`t tried any other products yet, but I haven`t heard anything negative about any of them.

I would speficically love to try all of their anti static products. 146 and 425 have completely changed my detailing regimen. I don`t fuss with any pastes of any form so detailing takes two seconds and

my car is ALWAYS clean even though its parked outside 90% of the time. Rain melts away surface dust leaving a slick surface. Does it get better than that?

in the non anti static department pink wax and fx100 do pretty good job. I have 330 and 121 samples which I never tried.

I may have to ask for sample of 217 on my next order.

I used 303 several times, and stil have yet to master it, as it has some cut to it (unusual for a glaze) but never seems to "buff up to a shine" on my PCeven at speed 6. Seems to have a forever work time. So I just make several passes with light pressure and then wipe excess with several passes (first for majority of excess) with a plush terry, then foloow up with slow smooth and even pressure wiping motions ("loving your car" as Mike Phillips would say). Overall it does leave the finish deeper, and masks any marring I may have.

using too much product? With glazes you only need a tiny amount

From FK, I`ve got Pink Wax, 2180, FX-100, 425, 146 and 121. Of those I really like Pink Wax and 121. I`ve used PW to top a bunch of different sealants and I really like the look. Still comparing PW with Natty`s Blue and S100. I really like 121 and use it for the car and around the house. It works well as a degreaser near the kitchen stove and even to remove dirt stains from the jeans that I use when I go out to construction sites for work!



The sprays are just ok for me. While I haven`t used 425 that much, I don`t really see that it`s anything special. It didn`t dazzle me when I used it on my car. It did work well to clean and keep dust off of my tv screen. I use 146 to clean dirty door jambs and grime and water spotting under the hood. I used to use FX-100 after PW and on cars with EX-P, but I find that after buffing, there`s a fine yellow dust that remains and gets irritating to clean up. Now I just use Crystal Mist or OCW. I still have about 3/4 of the original bottle to use up.

is that dust Carnauaba bits? I was in the same situation so instead of spraying the car or the towel I woud spray a foam applicator and spread evenly and thinly. Worked like a charm. FX 100 has given my Silver wheels the best pop so far and it seals as well to ward off brake dust baking away the clear coat. I also like that its liquid so its harder to miss a spot when buffing it out. Instant gloss.
