Hi all: My car got hit by a bomb. Was on the car for a couple hours, but when I cleaned it off, as usual, there was a definate mark left behind. What is the best way to take this out? Usually there is no mark left as I have multiple layers of protectant, but this one must have been really toxic. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Depends on the extent of the damage. I usually start with ScratchX.

What protectant were you using?

Meguiars new car glaze, topped with 2 + coats of S100, topped with FK pink wax.

Not shocked but somewhat surprised that 3 coats of carnauba did not provide much protection. You may want to look at Collinite carnauba or go the sealant route which is what I did after experiencing a similar "bb" fate while using P21S carnauba 2 years ago.

don`t forget to maybe use a little baking soda to make sure its neutrilize then start with some scratch X and go from there..

Nothing will protect a car`s paint from toxic bird poop. If you can get to it as soon as it happens you might luck out but if the bird`s diet included ingredients especially harmful to paint there is nothing that would have saved you.

This is the best argument out there for carrying QD (or better yet, PB Spray and Wipe) and MFs in the trunk.
