Paint issues

I have a black truck. I have noticed somehow i have hard water deposits on my hood and roof and a few on the bed rails. (probably the neighbor watering his grass) . what would be the best method to not only remove the deposits but really make my paint look amazing? i have a pc7424 and wanting to buy some new edge 2000 pads. would someone reccomend the steps and products i would need to take to make this work. also my truck is new and i dont want to create more damage that what is already there.

i have never used anything but a wax before, i am worried that a polish, or compound, or a glaze will eat through the clear coat or create some kind of damage that could show up years from now.
