This was one very seriously under rated detail. The paint put up such a fight, it could well push BMW CC for its money!:doublesho I started the detail at 10am and finished at 5pm.

First the car was rinsed off with the Karcher, then while Poorboys APC soaked in arches and on alloys I washed two bucket method.

Then rinsed with shower hose. Tried to clean alloys, but not a chance, so re-applied APC, but higher concentrate, and tried again.

Whole car clayed with DP clay. dried and paint checked with PDG.

I then tested an area and finished with Pinnacle SR on a medium cut pad. Completed all flatpanles with these, moving to light cut/polishing pad for side panels.

Then Pinnacle Advanced finishing polish and polishing pad for whole car. Wolkgang Deep Gloss Sealant applied with a finishing pad, topped with Dp Max Wax by hand. All glass with DP glass restorer, tyres with Optimum Tyre shine (for silky rather than glossy look).

I have never seen a car turn so many pads brown! even after claying, the dirt in the paint was just so deep! I did mange to remove all swirling, but not some deeper scratches.:thumb:

All shots in before then after format:thumb:

I like the paint thickness diagram, shows a real knowledge of paint/care for the long-term condition of the car. Also gives me a good idea (as I haven`t bought a gauge yet) of how much clear mild D/A polishing takes off. Might you have any of those for cars that got heavy rotary compounding?

not yet, I only got the gauge this week, and that was the first car I have used it on.

There are so many of us UK detailers using these now, feel welcome to pop over the pond to the virtual UK detailing forum...

The detail job is beautiful, the owner was probably disappointed you didn`t change the car`s ugly color. :rofl I would have been pleased over the moon.
