Hey guys.... alright so i just got a new paint job on my aftermarket hood for my grand prix... when i first saw the paint job i was really suprised because it looked really good except for a few spots where some dust fell on it... but i talked to the guy and he told me to bring it back and he would take care of it... so i bring it back a week later (to let the paint dry) and when i go to pick it up there are still a bunch of the spots left on the car and he gives me some bs bout how its not safe to sand the black paint and what not.... so that kinda pee`d me off

anyways.... so im not sure if i wanna take it back to the guy and make him fix it for fear of him screwing it up... i figure with my experience i may be able to fix it myself.... on the car there are a bunch of tiny specs where dust fell on top of the clear... can that be fixed with just some unigrit sanding??? there is also a spot where some of the clear dripped and at the end of the drip it seems as if there was a tiny bubble but it bursted and left the clear messed up... what u think i could do with that.... the other thing is on the bumper that he painted there is a spot that seems like the paint raised up a little bit (almost like a bubble) but im not sure if that is the clear or the color coat... anyone know what to do about this??? i would really appreciate the help... thanks guys

p.s. i took some photos .. dont know how much they`ll help..

in this photo you can see some of the specs that i was talking about

Is this a friend of yours or a business, or both? You may not want to confront him now but this will bother you as long as you own the car. Did he use a spray booth?? Color is real expensive now hopefully he`s just not trying to break even or lose a little from not repainting. If it was me I`d be there asking him to refinish it, that`s unacceptable IMO. Good luck.

That looks like an amateur job.. I did better the first time I sprayed a car, with no experience even.

give it to him to respray the entire hood again and color match it to the rest of the car....if he says not, then take him to small claims court and/or have another shop repaint it and send him the bill....if you start wetsanding just certain areas, then you will have orange peel in some and not in others leaving your hood still looking botched....good luck
