Hi guys, thought I`d post some pics of my TT after I detailed it last weekend. It`s a metallic black 2005 225 Quattro Coupe I bought new last June that`s kept outside and is my daily driver doing around 10,000 miles a year.

It was the UK TT owner`s club meeting last weekend so I thought I`d spruce it up for the trip.

Initially I tried cleaning/waxing it with Swissol paint cleaner then wax but I couldn`t get rid of an annoying small amount of smearing no matter how little wax I applied nor how long I left it to cure.

Anyway, I returned to my range of Meguiars products to do the job.

Process, all by hand, was:

1. Wash with baby shampoo

2. Wheels cleaned with Virosol [a citrus based degreaser, works v well]

3. Dried with silicone type wiper and then water magnet

4. DC1 [clayed only recently so didn`t bother with that]

5. DC2

6. NXT liquid wax

By the time I got to take some pics I`m afraid there was very little light left:

A reflection shot off the hood

Another, this time with the flash on to pic up the metallic flecks in the paint [the blob in the bottom left must be an artefact]

OK the next morning I dug the camera out again for some sun shots:

Looks beautiful! I sooo want a TT. I`ll take mine in a convertible with Nimbus Gray and the amber baseball optic leather interior. I didn`t care for the gray when I first saw it, but it really grew on me.

Baby Shampoo?? As in `Infant`?

That`s the stuff! If it`s gentle enough enough for your baby`s bum then it`s gentle on your paint/wax too! It`s very effective too in fact.

Normally I`d have used my NXT wash prior to using the Meg`s stuff, but I`d planned on using the Swissol products so went with baby shampoo [used several times before on the advice of one of the detailers/valeters on the UK TT forum with good effect - try it!]

That flash shot really shows the condition of the paint and the metallic flakes. Great job! :2thumbs:

Mmm, love TT`s and your`s looks amazing. I was wondering about the baby shampoo too. I`d be sticking with the NXT soap as it does a great job. NXT does look good on darker colours!
