i used 50/50 distilled vinegar/water to remove some water spots from my car

i put it in a spray bottle.. sprayed it on and let sit about 5 minutes while working it with a mf applicator.. washed and rinsed again..

spots gone..

but im wondering how bad is vinegar for paint?

did my quick wash and rinse remove all of it??

how stubborn is vinegar?

thanks

Nobody has reported any damage from straight vinegar, so it should be fine.

The acidic step of decontamination systems is a lot more potent than vinegar ;)

I had waterspots on my truck from the last couple weeks of rain. Couldn`t get them off with a QD`er. So right before I washed, I put some viniegar in a spray bottle and lightly sprayed all over the truck. Wash, and worked like a charm. And didn`t seem to hurt my Natty`s Blue as it still looks and beads like the day I did it.

The vinegar merely dissolves and breaks up the minerals from a water spot. It is nowhere near potent enough to harm paint. Of course, any time I`ve used it, I always follow with a wash, QD, or wax, depending on what I was doing at the time.

You should re-seal..........

If you can eat it, Im sure it`s ok for your paint.... :spot
