What is the best thing to use on exterior black plastic trim with kind of a rough surface like on a bumper pad or mirror back?

Welcome to the forums Mr. Nugent. ;)

For exterior trim I would go with Poorboy`s Trim Restore or Stoner`s Trim Shine.

I like PB`s Trim Restorer or Megs #38. NAPA carries most Megs stuff, if it`s not on the shelf ask at the counter and they probably have it out back or can order it.

The Liquid Extreme Shine blows everything away! Long story short, awhile back their was a hevaily faded and oxidized truck bed cover on an Avalanche, hit it with everything, nothing really helped. Got the Extreme Liquid Shine, three good coats and bingo, looks close to new as you can get, over a month later now and its still going strong! Lots of heavy rains storms and hot weather in the high 80`s, sets outside 24/7 in no shade. The Extreme Liquid is an amazing product.

Does the extreme liquid run in the rain? If so would buffing after letting it sit for an hour help prevent this?

I know TR has had people say that it does and it does not run.

Will extreme liquid remove wax stains? I know TR will.

It has light cleaners to my knowledge. I love PB products, but the TR is nowhere near as good imo. Read above, heavy thunderstorms and it looked good.

I usually apply it, let it set for ahwile whiel I work on other areas, then go back and buff it out alittle bit. by this time and after a light buff you can tell on normal wearing trim what areas might need another coat. For heavily worn areas, I go over it a few times, let soak in, buff, then one last top coat and leave, works great. It is really oily, so a wee bit goes very far, I use on small old rag, to do a normal car, I use around 1/8 oz at most. Once wet/soaked, the cloth will keep going and going.

I couldnt find any of the products you guys suggested last night (I live in the sticks) but I found some product made by Mothers for black trim - dang I cant think of the name. I`ll get he name later.

It worked very well, very quick and easy. It is a runny white liquid you just wipe on, sort of like armor all but much better. Anyone know what I am talking about or ever used it? Seems pretty good so far.
