Today I cleaned the exterior of our stainless steel BBQ grill with FK 215. Then I put on a layer of 1000p wax, then finished with a spray of AW. It looks almost as good as my car

Is it safe to wax a grill? I was also thinking about doing it (great minds think alike :)), but then I thought about the 500-600 degree heat that the grill is subjected to. Will the wax "melt" off or something like that?

I wondered about that too. I guess I`ll find out when I fire up the grill. If the whole mess drips off in a waxy puddle I`ll blame Finish Kare. I emailed them asking what products to use on my grill and they told me 215, 1000p and 425 to maintain. Any adverse effects will be duly reported :nervous:

My thought exactly, I can`t imagine the stuff going to last through the first BBQ. But at least it`s gonna shine til then! :D

Well 1000P is made for high temps.

Hey, if it holds up to the fire, let us know!!! I`d love to see that!

BTW, I just read on the Red Dot #49 thread where DavidB mentions the possiblity of a product rated up to 800 degrees. Sounds nice to me! Think what a spray that can handle that would do for underhood detailing!

You could always put a wheel sealant on it. :)

Last week I put AJ on my stainless steel fridge, dishwasher, and oven. :D

1000p is rated for about 250 degrees- some resins are rated in the 350-400 range
