I read a few years ago never to use a circular motion when applying and removing wax - only stright line movements following the lines of the car. I have been using this technique for a while now. I plan on waxing a new car for the first time w/NXT and wanted to check in to see if this is still the recommended way to apply/remove wax.

As the surface should already be perfectly clean when applyng a wax, and wax contains no abrasives you can apply it in any motion you like. I like to use circular motions for better coverage.

I don`t care what people say... as long as you have a quality applicator going in a circular motion should not make any difference.

I usually apply pastes in a circular motion.

Thanks guys. I will take your advice and go back to the circular method. I value your expertise.

Done with 1st coat of NXT! Will apply second coat in the AM. Should I put some carnaube wax over the NXT as the final step?

ntx/nuba is a nice combo.

nxt is very easy to use. the S100 nuba is also super easy to use.

circles=trouble ( just me )

Should I skip the 2nd coat of NXT and just put a coat of carnauba wax on the car?
