I`m trying to fix a paint chip, and yesterday i messed up because i didn`t wait long enough in between layers (yeah I know, stupid me). it got all nasty need less to say, so I was panicking and didn`t want it to dry that way so i got some nail polish remover and it wiped all the touch up paint off and i`m back where i began. I`m wonder if this affects the surrounding paint at all?

If you wipe it on and then take it off quickly, it shouldnt do any harm, due to the differences in chemistry between touchup paint and regular paint. However, it will remove any wax, and if left to sit long enough will probably haze the clearcoat (NP remover is a pretty harsh solvent). You should be in the clear, but polishing the area with AIO or equivalent might not be a bad idea.
