So, I finally picked up a can of Brasso Metal Cleaner, what a bargain around $2! Did a few test areas on my old bike pipes and wow, really cleane dup a lot of it with no effort! Seemes to leave a film on newer or already polsihed parts though. Overall, seems ot be a real winner.

My question is, this stuff is obviously some very potent chemical cleaner, gees just smell it, betetr yet never do! As I keep getting new chrome for my bike, is this safe to use on a continuous basis? Will it eat away the finish as tiem goes on? This is oen thing I look for in polishes, most have abrasvies and I surely don`t want micromarring on my new chrome.

I haven`t used Brasso for, uhm, about thirty years :o but it was abrasive back then. Too abrasive for chrome? I dunno...

Used to use Brasso on a daily basis in the army. The stuff works great. However, with too much use, you can remove any protective coating. Once that happens you will be polishing your chrome alot more often.

brasso is great for cleaning up rear defroster lines on old cars. You will be amazed at how the rear defroster will work like new again!
