View Full Version : How to remove baked on brake dust ?

I tried Eagle 1 All Wheel and Tire Cleaner. Did not do a thing. Now what ? I really don`t want to use the sandpaper yet. :confused:

Try Meguiar`s Wheel Brightener & a good wheel brush it works miracles.

did u just spray it on and spray off? no aggitation?

Get a acid-based wheel cleaner, make sure you dilute it to the directions on the bottle. Let it sit for like 1min, then rinse well. That`s what we do to most of our used cars at work...



I wouldn`t use it on any kind of expensive aluminum finish though, just to be safe...

I am in the same boat as you. I recently picked up a set of used OEM VW Passat wheels. Even though they look fantastic there are some places where there is baked on brake dust. I plan on showing my car at WaterFest so I need to do my best to get rid of it.
