I wanted to use the BHB for cleaning leather, but I can`t find one anywhere. Anyone know where to get one?

I don’t think a BHB would be stiff enough for cleaning leather. BHB’s are made to gently dislodge loose dirt. You need a stiffer brush for cleaning upholstery.

Natural bristle upholstery and detailing brushes are usually horsehair.

Natural bristle brushes are fairly common, many suppliers have them.

For all manner of brushes you can try: http://www.brush.com/

Griot`s has some nice brushes. I don`t think they have a toothbrush style boar`s hair brush, but here are a few smaller-sized brushes...

They also have a set of four toothbrush-style brushes: brass, steel, nylon, and horsehair...

I have the set of Griot’s BHB detail brushes. They’re great for dusting and even getting light residue from badges and crevices but IMHO they’re to soft for upholstery. (I have a hunch they’re pastry brushes.)

The horsehair “toothbrush†probably has the right stiffness but is too small for large areas. For spotting and crevices it should work well.

Yeah, it does seem small, but the OP was looking for a toothbrush style. I`ve never seen one that was boar`s hair though, let alone boar`s head.

buy a set of "china bristle" paint brushes. China bristle is boars hair.

cut them to the length you need. and have at it.

I think a boar would be OK with brushing his head with either the horsehair or nylon toothbrushes.

I`m guessing he`d get irritated with the wire brushes.

I got some natural-bristle toothbrush style brushes from a place called The Vermont Country Store. Haven`t tried them yet though. They come in hard, medium, and soft.

While not toothbrush shaped, the brushes in Griot`s 015520 set can be cut down to make them much more aggressive. But note that you`ll be cutting off the flagged tips, so they don`t just get stiffer, they get far more aggressive overall. I sure wouldn`t use them on paint after cutting them down, but the cut down ones are nice for more aggressive jobs. I`ve scrubbed seams/welting crevices on leather seats with them.

The issue of cutting off flagged tips might be worth considering when cutting down *any* very gentle brush....the ones I use for household antiques have flagged tips too.
