Hey everyone, this Porsche belongs to a gentlemen who is a first time customer. When he called me last week about his car he said that it had some minor swirling that he wanted to get rid of. I told him no problem and we set up the appointment. (For once I got to detail at home). He showed up at my house yesterday and dropped off the car. An 05 Porsche Carrera in Midnight Blue. This color is apparently EXCELLENT at hiding swirls. I thought it was going to be a fairly easy job. Boy was I wrong, once I got it under the halogens a whole different story popped up and I was wondering if I would be able to finish it in the 6 hours that I had to work on it.

This is what I saw before I got it in the garage. Looks pretty clean and straight forward. Right?

WRONG!

And Suzanne came by right when I was finishing to go to dinner, she demanded to sit in the car, so I got a picture of her doing so. I know, I know, it`s just that I`m retarded for this girl.

Wow, you were right. That color *does* hide a lot of defects! Great looking car, and awesome detail. Congrats!

Excellent detail you have the Carrera looking amazing. I do think you could think of another adjective to use regarding how you feel for Suzanne. Some people may take offense at your choice.

Good job! I have a midnight blue 911 and I concur that it hides the swirls just fine until you turn on the halogens or see it at just the right angle on a monster bright sunny day.

Great job on those swirls. Any hazing problems with 2.5 and a burgandy pad? I know black Porsche paint can be haze prone, just wondering if blue is the same.

Anyway, looks terrific...oh yeah, the car does too. ;)

It did haze a fair amount, I mean 2.5 and a cutting pad I wouldn`t expect any less. I tried a whole slew of other options but not even DACP was working those swirls out, so I used the 2.5 and just sucked it up knowing that it would haze, but the SSR1 took car of most of that leaving just the barest touch of cloudiness under the 1200 halogens, and then the Pro Polish left it really crisp. Just a whole LOT of work. Multiple passes of 3 different products, I tell ya that was the hardest Porsche paint I ever worked with.

Suzanne is the greatest person I know, she is my best friend and more. I am honored that I can call her my girlfriend.

Ben Kenobi: If I offended you or anyone that you know with that comment I apologize. How about, instead of being retarded for her, I am "so profoundly in love with her that it leads me to allow her to do things that I would not allow any other person to do." Like sit in a customers car.

Better?

Thanks everyone for your posts.
