I`m not sure if this answers your question effectively, but I`ve heard Collinite`s #845 Insulator wax works well with dark colored cars. I tried it on a black BMW the other day and I was thoroughly impressed. It looked dripping wet in the sun! In fact, it looked the best when it was in the sun.

Before the wax, we used Poor Boy`s SSR2.5, then SSR1.

SSR2.5, then SSR1.

I imagine it was first 2.5 to get out all the scratches, and then SSR1 as a finishing polish to make sure the finish is perfect.

Yes, we used 2.5 with a cutting pad, then 1 with a polishing pad. Then the 845 wax.

The most versatile polisher to use, which also happens to be the most popular polisher used by the community, is the Porter Cable DA.

As far as products, I suggest learning the detailing process before jumping into what products to use. Look at the top of the page, and click on the Learn button. You will find tons of great info there.

And, you could swing over by the reviews section and sort by best review to see what people really enjoy using: http://www.autopia.org/reviews/index.php

It`s not a end-all be-all, but it does point you in the right direction. :2thumbs:
