Today I detailed my car and decided to wet sand my left headlight.

I forgot to take before pictures of my headlight, so I tried to find the best picture I could of my headlight.

I taped off around the paint and used a little squirt bottle to keep the headlight and sandpaper wet.

I started out with 1800 grit then went to 2400 grit and finished it out with 3600 grit. After the sanding I polished it with Megs scratch ex.

Sanding lighting is really a hidden gem. I`ve been doing it for a while; works wonders!

Nice job, I`m surprised you had to sand the headlights as your car isn`t that old. Any advice on doing ones on a 2000 Intrepid? I`ve noticed the vinly like coating is starting to wear away in some areas. I`m wondering if polishing will take off the remainder or would I need to sand?

Ironicly, just tonight I did a lil detailing to my friends girlfriends celica. He said it would make her day if we could fix the haze on her headlights. So I hit them with OC with yellow sonus pad followed by OP using a white sonus pad. Turned out real good! I guess celicas have problems with that.....? Great job on the headlights!!!!! :bow

Here`s a G35 Sedan that I did today as well. Just a little buffing and they came out pretty good.

I`d have to agree; auntie`s Celica GT is suffering from the same problem.

I`m not sure why the headlight got foggy so quickly. The right one is brand new the previous owner got into a minor wreck with it and must have just replaced the right one.

Tomorrow I`ll take pics of the new and the old to compare the two

Also I`m going to sand my friends mustang headlights

They look alot worse in person

You can see where the fogging stops because of his hood.

The left headlight was just as fogged as the right.

I did the same process but I wish I had something lower than the 1800 with me because the fogging was god awful bad.

Most of the fogging is gone on the outside but I believe there is still something on the inside. He didn`t want to try to take the headlights apart, so maybe another day we will sand the insides.
