Hi guys.

Has anyone owned or used the above orbit polisher before? Any reviews? The PC 7424 is not available in Singapore as yet so I may have to settle for something else, and I saw the Black n Decker on sale here.

Has anyone tried some DIY to fit the standard polishing pads onto the Black and Decker using velcro? Any tips?

Thanks

Is that a Firestorm model? If so it would be a decent choice.

Nah, that`s their regular ROB model. I once thought about getting that to DIY it, but I don`t think it has enough power (and the speed isn`t adjustable). If you can find it, go for the B&D Firestorm FS4000ROS. It even comes with a velcro backing plate so you dont` have to DIY it.

4000 to 11000 rpm variable setting! Wow! It looks mean! OK. Thanks for the recommendation guys..I will check out if my local DIY store sells it....

BTW, will the hook and loop pads used by you guys on the PC work on the firestorm?

Cheers

yeah, no problem. the 11k OPM range works fairly well.

Yeah, the pads will work fine. It`s a 5" velcro backing plate, so stick with pads 6.5" or less in diameter. It only has 5mm eccentricity, so 4000-11000 OPM is actually fine. When I set mine to speed 1 of 6 on the dial, it barely moves...so don`t go by that. Hopefully your local store will sell it...
