what is a better combo - light pad heavy product or heavy pad lighter product

lets say you are working on a section with menzerna products and meguiars pads....

IP on a red pad, or PG on a yellow pad.....whats going to work the fastest and best?

or would I be better off PG on red and IP on yellow in two steps?

Nice question. In the past I thought a light pad and heavy product, but recently I have had good results with heavy pad light product.

My combo was a grity compound on a megs polish pad. It was slow. I even had some halograms with my PC.

Now Optimum polish on a yellow Car-Brite cutting pad. Cuts fast and finishes very nicely.

I wouldn`t use the Megs burgundy pad with any polish other than MPP or OP. Anything else and it`ll haze the finish beyond repair. Unless you use a rotary, then it works fine.

Also, I wouldn`t use PG with a PC...I know some do but I wouldn`t recommend it. IMO its a rotary only compound.

Megs yellow is a good pad, but if you want to step up pad aggressiveness you need to look at LC yellow or orange, Sonus yellow, or Propel yellow and orange. The jump to Megs burgundy is far to big IMO.
