2005 Honda Odyssey. She said it was filthy when she called, I`m glad she is a clean freak and her definition of `filthy` means practically spotless! Interior was in decent shape, mostly just dirty from a road trip. Exterior was really good too, hit with Werkstatt`s Prime and a blue Propel finishing pad and Acrylic Jett by hand. Finished a little past noon and as expected, full overhead sun and silver don`t always look as good on film as in person.

================

1995 Mercedes C280. Last waxed nearly a year ago (AIO/Tropicare) but still looking pretty decent because it was probably only driven about 4000 miles during that time. Polished the hood and trunk lid with Optimum Polish to remove some light defects then hit the whole car with Werkstatt`s Prime and a blue Propel pad and topped with Acrylic Jett Trigger.

1990 Chevy Corvette, dynoed at 535 hp and something like 475 lb-ft of torque. Don`t know if they squeezed on the dyno run. The current owner bought the car 6 years ago from the 2nd owner. The first owner bought the car and spend $60k on modifications to the engine, body, paint, suspension, wheels and tires....rears are 335/35 17s! Anyway, 4 weeks after he got the finished car, he died of a stroke. 2nd owner bought the car from the widow and put around 11,000 miles on it in the 10 years he`s owned it. The last 6 years, the car has been driven less than 20 miles! He had been keeping it at his summer home in Jackson, Mississippi but never registered it so the car can`t legally be driven on the street. Had it trucked here to Dallas after selling his summer home. He is currently debating registering it and keeping it as a weekend toy or just unloading it.

Anyway, a couple engine shots:

Washed down with Optimum No Rinse (hey, with only 11k on it, the engine was just dusty!) and dressed with Armor All.

This is after polishing the side with Optimum Polish using a white LC polishing pad and buffing off with Optimum Car Wax:

I had to polish out some water stains on the rear deck with Optimum`s Hyper Compound and a green Propel lite cut pad, then went over the whole car with Optimum Polish using a white LC polishing pad and buffing off with Optimum Car Wax and you can see my son Chris topping it all off with Poorboy`s Natty`s Blue:

Hot lookin Vette!!

How did the Hyper Compound and Green Propel finish on the waterspots? Did it leave any noticeable marring or hazing?

And is that one of the Optimum towels your son is using with the Natty`s?

Haha I always have a bunch of questions for ya!

great job as always :bow

although i did have one questions, when you apply prime, do you use pc or a rotary?

if u use a pc, how long does it take you to do lets say a avg size hood, do try to polish the hood or just make a couple of passes to ensure the whole hood is covered?

I mite try to apply prime with rotary, see if i get xtra slickness out of it

Absolutely no marring with Hyper but I didn`t use a cutting pad either. Looked pretty much LSP ready to be honest.

The towel my son is using is one I get from my Optimum distributor but it isn`t an *Optimum* towel. It looks just like those orange edgeless Viking towels but is noticably softer.

roadmaster_Tx-I apply it with the PC and basically go over the panel 2-3 times at a moderate pace until Prime pretty much disappears. Absolutely no effort to remove when you do that.

Sean-Yeah, Bob really has an appreciation for C4s!

Mike-Chris and my younger son Jason have been helping me now since each was about 10. The funny thing is, when I asked the owner if what specifically he was looking for in the finish after I had polished it, he said "really wet" and my son immediately said "I`ll get the Natty`s Blue". :)

To answer the last question, I believe Scott just turned 97 last year.

That hood shot on the Vette looks incredibly wet. I`m always blown away by Natty`s Blue on any color. It`s great that your kids enjoy working with you.

Scottwax, excellent job indeed. The vette`s front end looks really cool. Quick question: When using the Hyper Compound, did you use a PC? Also, do you feel that the Optimum line of polishes and compounds take longer to break down then other polishes and compounds? Thanks!
