Well, at the risk of inciting personal ridicule and abashed disdain, I thought I`d toss up a few shots I took of my 2001 Eldorado ETC. I finished cleaning her up the other day, except for the wheels. I didn`t do it all at one time, it was an hour here, an hour there. Started with wash, clay, wash, PB SSR2, AIO, SGx3, and IWx2. This is a daily driver with 67K miles that sits outside 24x7, in New Jersey no less. For five year old paint, it`s not too bad - it took me a while to get the dealer-applied swirl marks and spider webs out, but I didn`t really attack the tiny chips. I don`t trust myself with Duplicolor, so if it didn`t polish out, it stayed there.

Great work, especially for someone who labels themself as an "amateur!"

I can see some very minor swirling on your trunk lid in the last shot. But other than that, it looks flawless!

Very nice! :)

BTW, a heat gun and some fishing line or dental floss will make short work of that dealer emblem on the back.

If you`re talking about that spot over on the left side near the edge separating the vertical from horizontal, yes, I have a couple of those. I wanted to be careful about grinding away too much over the PAINTED pinstripe...

Thanks.

I believe that`s the famous Corvette and Cadillac dealer in NJ!

Looks terrific!!!! Excellent job. 67K on a daily driver from NJ is now impossible to discern.

I know outside 24/7 in the NE from living in SENY and now NEPA and it`s horrible!!!

How much of a change did you see after the IW over the SG?

To be honest, I think it dulled just a bit - it`s hard to say because I went a day or so between SG coats to let it cure, and a day or so between IW coats. The only thing I really noticed is that, after the SSR and AIO and SG, the finish seemed pretty clean. But after the first coat of IW (or probably almost any wax) I noticed the tiny chips more. The wax gets in them and increases their visibility quite a bit.

Most of them are very very small, no more than a pencil point. But between the grit on the roads, the damn cats that seem to love sitting on the car, and just plain old five years of use, there are a good number of them.

I try to throw a cover over the car when it`s not in use, but it`s just one of those $60 Walmart cheapies, and there`s probably as much grit and crud in the cover getting transmitted to the car.. but I use it to protect against birds and cats...

Thanks for the kudos, everyone. Next comes the 02 Deville.. :LOLOL

Correct. Big huge dealer Caddy/Vette/Lambo dealer in Palmrya up near Cherry Hill, but I got the Eldo at their Atlantic City location. Between the trunk sticker and the two license plate frames, they should be payin` me to shill for `em .. lol
