Am I missing anything else? How many MF towels would you use for washing and polishing? Also, your opinions on the Edge 2000 pads?

EDIT: Do I need plastic polish for my headlights and taillights? What would you recommend? I`ve read about Mother`s Plastic Polish and PlastX, but can`t decide.

Sound like a good selection, I don`t think you can really go wrong with that. In any particular session you might use about 10 towels for different tasks (polish, wax, glass, interior dressing, tire dressing, dropping on ground), so you might want 10-40 towels depending on how often you want to wash them.

EDIT: As far as the plastic polish for your lenses, most of the time I use whatever (light) polish I am using on the paint (careful not to get it gunked up in the molded-in letters). If you have a specific problem on the lenses you might want the dedicated polish.

Just a quick thought. You can save quite a bit by getting the PC at Lowes. I`ve seen mention of people getting it for as low as $90 with a coupon and the coupon was from Home Depot. I got mine at Lowes a while back for $109. This is the PC 7336 which is the same deal with a 6" counterweight.

I just saw your $129.99 price and I figured you could save a bit if you have a Lowes near you. I don`t know if they have it a Lowes.com.

IMO, you can never have enough MF`s and you`ll likely collect them over the years.

I`d be nice to start out with at least 10 or 12 though and look for package deals.

I`m psyched to try the Edge 2000 pad system. I need to place an order soon. I also understand that Edge will have 4" 2000 pads very soon.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies!

The PC only comes out to 120 and that includes shipping and discount. I was going to purchase it on Amazon for 119.99 but it came out to be the same after I created 2 carts on autogeek.com

As far as MF towels go, what size are you referring to? 16x16? I will most likely work on my own car and a few others, not consecutively. I know pakshak sells a lot of towels. Any other place I should look?

That`s about the dollar amount that I started with and have since easily tripled it! Its addicting I tell you. Got to start buying stuff only when I need it and not just because I want to try it. Don`t need 10+ LSP`s and 10+ QD`s! haha

I can sense that it will become addicting. I definitely have to budget my expenses towards detailing.

I`ve just switched over from 20 years of using the traditional types of pads on both rotaries and the PC. I love the Edge 2000 system and I`m not going back.

Finally decided to purchase all those items!

Also bought a 12 pack of Supreme MF towels from ExcelDetail.

As for cleaning the plastic on headlights/taillights, I`m not entirely sure what to use. I`m thinking maybe PlastX.

I just got some plastx recently for the JDM tails I have and it worked really well with the PC

True, just bought a 7336 at Lowes today. $99 with a home depot $10 off coupon.

Cart looks good though.

Just polish them with the PC when you do the paint.
