I have meguiars pads - about 3 burgandy, 4 yellow, and 1 tan....do you think it would be worth it to pick up some lake country, or propel pads to add to the arsenal?? if so, which ones, and why would it help? what characteristics would the additional pads bring that the meguiars pads dont have that would help me

You can never have too many pads! You may want to try the Lake Country and Propel to see which you like better. I prefer the Lake Country over Meguiars, all personal preference. Any one of those brands will all serve you well.

I have 2 yellow Meg`s pads and one tan, and I haven`t touched them since I bought my Propel pads. The Meg`s yellow ones had a real problem with washing out poorly. I`d always be left with some specks of product stuck in the foam.
