What types of rims can regular waxes be used on? I have seen people here talk about using everything from AIO to Nufinish on rims....if wax is fine to use on all rims why do companies make whell glazes?

I think on all types of rims.

I throw on a coat of CMW to my rims usually. Brings out the shine in them

Because people will buy them ;)

If your wheels get really hot you should probably use a product made to withstand high temps. Heat will soften wax which will not only make it fail quickly, but will also make for a soft, sticky surface that brake dust/etc. will stick to. But IMO the potential for this is vastly over-rated; most people do not (IMO) get their wheels all that hot.

FWIW I used wax (usually Souveran) on the XJS`s wheels for many years and never had a problem but I`m currently using sealants most of the time.

I use Klasse SG on my wheels and it works great. Dirt and brake dust, etc. washes right off with just a spray of the hose.

So I could use AIO then a little Poorboys EX-P and be set?

After I clean the wheels on my cars I apply 845 every month and a half or so. Lasts as long or longer than anything else I`ve tried.

I am not familiar with Poorboys, since I have never used it. If it`s anything like SG, then yeh, it`s the way to go. :)

Whats SG again?

After using whatever makes them look good - paint cleanser, metal polish, etc., I`ve found that a coat of Poorboys Wheel Sealant is much more durable than any of the paint sealants or waxes I`ve tried in the past. Could be just a customer easily separated from the money in his wallet, but I`ve noticed a difference in durability.

SG = Klasse Sealant Glaze, SG for short. :)

This has been my combo starting this Spring on my wheels and it`s working out just fine so far. It`s been about 3 weeks and the wheels still feel slick and getting off the brake dust is very easy. I`m going to add another layer of the EX-P after the next wash and then likely add some FK1 FX-100 at every subsequent wash over the Summer because it`s so easy to use and the slickness is terrific.
