Door guards

hello everyone,

I just bought a black PT Cruiser (2003). Paint is in really good shape. The thing is that I have these silver door guards and I would like to take them off. They seem to have been glued to the doors. How do I remove the glue residue once I have removed the guards??? I really dont want to mess up the paint. Thanks

Goo Gone. I have not personally used it but i am planning on buying some cause everyone i know says to use it.
