Is there a way to remove swirls in my bikes windscreen? What pad/product combo? It is a clear windscreen...tried 3m plastic polish by hand with no results.....

Might try the Meguiar`s #10/#17 combo with a PC and 4" polishing pad.

You might even try a light paint polish if it`s really bad and you want to knock down the worst of the scratches more quickly. Then follow up with the 10/17 and finish/maintain with Plexus.

So should I be using a black finishing pad with the polish. Something like Poorboy`s Polish with 100% Carnauba? It says acrylic on the bottle...but will a black or white pad be needed?

I`d start out gentle and work up from there if you need to. Any marring you put in you`ll need to work pretty hard to get out.

Acrylic is generally very easy to buff. It usually responds well to the same processes as paint. (Strangely enough, before polyurethanes, OEM finishes were usually acrylic enamels.)

Unfortunately, most bike windscreens aren`t acrylics these days; they`re usually polycarbonates, which are much tougher to polish out. (Also, they sometimes have coatings on them that can`t be repaired when damaged.)

Meguiar`s PlastX is another product worth considering.

PC.

i`d be surprised if you bike`s windshield is acrylic. almost all bikes i`ve had have polycarb windshields. i haven`t found them to be tougher to buff out than any normal paint defects. in fact, i just buffed out a zero grav windshield i had for my trackbike and it`s pretty clear now.
