Posting this for a friend. Help him `install` this Satuday...

Well after always having to clean my car of rubber after a day at the track from doing big burnouts, I said to myself there has to be an easier way. I tried the burnout guard and it works okay. Then I found this.

Transit Shield

I bought it in clear. The 200`x2` roll. It looks like the packaging wrap. It`s self adhesive. I put it on the hood, trunk lit and spoiler and along the sides up until the rear quarter panel and roof.

Thanks to Chris and Mike (xmonte) for helping. Plus CHris for the pics

Everyone was lookng at the car while driving to the track. Some guys at the track made some funny jokes but loved the idea. Some called it a condom, some called it a subway sandwhich. Some even asked why I didn`t take off the plastic from when I bought it. It was funny. They understood more being front wheel drive.

Here are some pics. The last few pics were taken with my cell phone so sorry about the quality. The last pic will show the difference from an area I left off.

Interesting, any mods or is that a stock GTP.

I never under stood why GM had to put a supercharger in that car to put out only 240 - 260 hp and you can get a Maxima 3.5L with no SC that puts out 245-255hp.

Very mod`d. Best of 12.1 in the 1/4 with the supercharger. Now with the new turbo his best is 11.85.

I`m not getting into a flamewar over engines.

Great find!!!! I know a few people, myself included, who could definitely use some of that stuff.

You posted peak HP, but what about torque? What RPMs do those numbers appear at? What`s the dyno curve look like? They`re both good motors. (your statement with a large motor and low #`s deals with finding a transmission that can move a heavy car with lots of power without breaking.)

97-03 L67

Horsepower, 240 @ 5200 rpm

Torque (lb-ft), 280 @ 3200 rpm

04-06 L32

Horsepower, 260 @ 5200 rpm

Torque (lb ft), 280 @ 3600 rpm
