Miata was about the same story. Both cars I got used at different times. The Miata was obviously taken better care of. The GS was a mess. No scratches to worry about in the Miata. Although I have this weird issue with the hood. Almost like there is road tar on it and sometimes it emits a wierd oily mess. I`ve clayed 3 times, and polished it twice. It`s wayyyy better now, but drove crazy for a little while there.

Bad day for pics. Cant` get anything without a glare. Could be camera operator error also.

I also redid the seats in leather myself and added heating elements to keep warm on cool rides. Both the leather and heaters turned out great.

Leather looks nice! Is that an OEM kit or did you get it somewhere else?

They are called Katzkins (http://www.katzkin.com/05/FC/mainFS.html) . Very easy to work with. I`ll have to search for a link to the heaters. Great company. I got them off Ebay for $140 a pair.

The leather was about $500. Took me one day to do the upholstry in my basement. Took me about 4 hours to do the electrical. Just a pain getting some of the car taken apart. The wiring is basic. Cutting the console for the switches was fun though. :D

Thanks.

The Lexus looks like the Miata as far as gloss goes, but I just couldn`t capture it today for some reason. You can kinda see it in the Miata pics sitting in the garage all shiny! I was really happy with how the ChemicalGuys car wash solution left the finish. I used a foam gun and loaded it up good, then had at it. It dried really easily with very few streaks.

I`ll have to work on my photog skills this summer. :D

Love those wheels on the GS and the interior work on the Miata. Not to mention the excellent detailing on both! :bow

Thanks guys! I suppose I should have vaccumed out the Miata before I took photos! :D

I did use some Chemical Guys leather scent on both cars this weekend. Even after 3 days of top down in the Miata, it still smells like leather scent. Cool!

Used a PC on both cars. The Lexus has taken me quite a bit of time. I bought it used and the dealership put a nice coat of glaze on it to hide all the issues. A couple weeks after getting it the glaze wore off and the ugliness began.

The PC has been my friend throughout this adventure. So has a bottle of Menzerna. It`s nice to see the paint is finally being fixed and not just glazed over.

I think you should have to sign a commitment when you buy a black car to prevent the next owner from having so many headaches.

Oh well... I`m almost done. Just working on the OCD stuff now.
