2005 Volkswagen New Beetle. Decent shape, only a year old, light to moderate spider swirls. Especially fun on a day that hit 102, not a cloud in the sky and no shade at this medical complex. Perfect for buffing!

Started off with Optimum Compound using a white LC polishing pad. The hood and trunk lid took several passes, VW paint is about as hard as Audi paint it appears. I then used Clearkote`s Vanilla Moose, again using a white LC polishing pad and sealed with Poorboy`s EX w/carnauba.

I am really pleased, especially given the temperatures and lack of shade that the Beetle polished out pretty well. Not 100%, but probably 97%.

=============

2005 Ford GT. He`s had it a couple months, put less than 1000 miles on it. Says he`s had it over 140 mph just merging on to the freeway.

The engine was pretty clean, just gave it a once over with Clearkote`s Quikshine.

The paint was excellent, about the lowest level of orange peel I can recall seeing on a Ford ever. Just one small scuff I had to buff out with Optimum Polish and a white LC polishing pad, then went over the whole car with Jeff`s Werkstatt`s Prime with a blue Propel polishing pad and Acrylic Jett by hand.

Wasn`t sure if it would start raining while I was working on it, so he left it inside while he ran so errands and I took a few indoor shots.

This one shows how wet, clear and glossy the JW twins are on white:

I really don`t know what to say Scottwax, other than you are a lucky man.

What did you use on the tires of the GT? Also, how`d you like the vinyl stripes? The one I saw in a showroom was red with white stripes, and they were kinda obvious. Might have just been that car, as it is the only one I`ve seen in real life.

Nice job as usual!

If those are vinyl stripes, they did a really good job with them. Seemed painted on to me, or they could be under the clear.

Maybe I`m wrong, but from what I remember, the stripes on the one I saw in person were obviously vinyl.

They had little ripples and such in them, whereas the rest of the paint looked surprisingly good for an American car.

Hopefully someone will know for sure.

All Ford GT`s are painted by hand, the stripes are painted on, and all are hand polished with a machine before they leave the factory.

And that is one sexy Ford GT...... :shocked :bow

It rained on and off all day so the roads were damp. He said if it is dry next time, he`d take me for a spin in it. http://www.scottwax.com/rice/videos/smilies/fingersx.gif

darin-I`ve done cars worth a lot more than that GT, like Rolls, Bentley, Lamborghini, etc. I try to take care when I am working though to keep myself from doing something stupid, like tripping and putting a buffer through a body panel.

Just read on the Ford site, "painted racing stripes $5350.00." I stand corrected.

I guess they rushed these that I saw then lol.

And once again, a fine, high-performance automobile, where the owner leaves the dealer license plate frame on.

Great job, looks like it is dripping with milk, skim. :bow
