I bought this Karcher unit yesterday at Costco for $180. 1750 psi, and all cords, hoses, wands, and attachments are contained within the unit. It fits nicely in my tightly-stuffed van:

20 feet of pressure hose. 20 feet of extension cord. Additive tank. Wand extension is attached with a spring-activated quick release fitting:

There`s no crank, unfortunately, but when the pressure hose and extension cord loop around the central shaft. Takes about 60 seconds to wrap up neatly, and there`s plenty of room to close the cover if the cord and hose are not perfectly wound tightly:

Mine is about 10 months old, and kicked the bucket... Looked into it, and I am definitly not alone...
They`re good units while they last, but plastic parts don`t last long when used often :sosad

I thought Karcher`s that good, considering the premium price.
Oh well, glad I`m using dem good old Japanese power washers. Hehe. :getdown

OT: what`s the max PSI rating that will not damage the car surface? I have a power washer at home my dad bought it for the car, but we felt PSI was too high so we only use it to wash the driveway.

Must be made in Mexico or China for the US market or something. Here in Europe they are considered pretty good.

You are buying a retail/consumer pw. Even the Generac brand I bought at Home Depot years ago did not last a year. If you are detailing regularly, it will pay to get a Honda with a CAT pump, or something similiar. The hose itself is just cheap. There`s no way to sugarcoat those units. Karcher does make commercial units so my guess is that the member in Europe is talking about those units.
You know how it goes..you get what you pay for. If you are a weekend detailer, this might work well for you, but don`t expect longevity out of this unit. I bought one for home use only and brought it back the next day..couldn`t stand it.
Archerwin: Depends. If you are at a safe distance, then you can`t do anything to the paint. My units were always 2000psi, but I feel that 1500 is good. I never used the hose on a narrow stream, always fan.

That`s what they want you to think! Another great marketing ploy we are getting here in the US is when a storied name (GE, Honeywell, AT&T) gets licensed out to use on products the original company doesn`t want to bother with anymore (which is different than the resurrection of the name of a dead company to put on a product that has nothing to do with the original company). I have my GE phone that was made by Thompson in China, and my AT&T phone that was made by Philips in Mexico, and I bought a "Honeywell" electric heater for a friend that was made in China for Kaz.

Doesnt matter how much pressure the pressure washer puts out, its how close you get to the paint. I have one that 2450psi and use it on my jeep all the time. I could remove the paint if i wanted but I tend to keep my distance and it does just fine.

an old topic, but I saw this same karcher 1750psi pressure washer for $99 at Big Lots. They also had a karcher gas pressure washer about 2500psi for $249.
