A friend contacted me for detailing his car.

It`s a Volvo V70 estate in silver metallic.

This will be my first "official" detailing job because I started up a small business, legal with all the correct paperwork (to advertise legal and also to have the chance to contact garages, and people that want an invoice...)

His car is full of rust-particles, small drops like tar sports.

The whole roof and hood is covered.

You barely can feel them when rubbing a finger or nail over them.

Can this sort of contamination be removed with a clay bar/polish/rotary or is the only option wetsanding wich I don`t like....

His insurance won`t pay because they think he did it himself, :soscared:

Any tips should be welcome....

normally you can remove them with clay it it is not TOO bad. and not rusted into the paint.

is it a newer car? probably the "rail dust" from when the car was transported to the dealer. the iron particles settled on the paint and now have rusted due to exposure

This is a job for a decontamination system such as AutoInt`s ABC. I clay while the "B" is dwelling (it goes through a lot of clay but it works). The ABC is made for exactly this kind of job and it`s always worked well for me.
