Anyone tried this out? Is there a similar product available else where?

There are several products like this out there. Most are clear spray on.

Crazy idea but wouldn`t clear food wrap(cling film) be just as good at a fraction of the price?Especially if it was just to get you to a show to cut down on prep time?

I think there are two different types of this "spray on" Clear Bra product. On the one hand there are products that are Urethane based like ArmorCoat from Armor Auto (http://armorcoat.armorauto.com/) which is applied like a Clear Coat (read with a paint gun) and is permenately adhered to the paint.

This stuff here is more like what we use when painting cars and fall into the category of Clear Paint Masking.

Masking a car with paper or plastic before painting is long and tedious work, so someone came up with the idea of a sprayable masking liquid that you could apply to the body and rinse/peel off .

However most of the one`s I`ve used or seen where never meant to be left on the car for any period outside of painting. They don`t look all that great.

So this one is new to me too.

Will be interesting to see the amount of time it sticks on the car. If it lasts a week`s time, id be all over that for road trips!

My 00` Ford F150 Lariat came with something like that on the front of the hood. Where a bug/rock deflector would guard. It was permanent. I`m kind of a tailgator and I had no chips on the front of my hood. My 02` does not have that and it`s chipped. Wonder what that was? You could only tell if you look hard and see like an extra "layer" of paint...so-to-speak. Looked sorta like a sheet layer`d over the paint. Or was it within the paint?

The Pro-Tint Quick Peel is ~ $62/qt :soscared: and requires a paint sprayer for application.

If you can afford a race car, then I guess that price is "affordable". But, I don`t think that it is too affordable for the average Joe just using it for road trips to avoid bug damage.

So has anybody tried the Griot`s or the Dupli-Color stuff? Particularly the Griot`s, I like the peel-off idea a lot more than the Dupli-Color`s wash-off method.

I`m waiting to hear as well. I will be driving from Detroit to Michigan`s UP next month and would like some protection.
