So I picked up a PC today at Lowes and I was looking for pads. What kind of pads should I get? I dont want super expensive stuff but I want good quality. What Im trying to say is what pads are the best bang for the buck?

pakshak.com has good deals. I personally like Sonus pads which can be found on http://www.autopia-carcare.com

LCM pads seem to be the most popular, and they are at very good prices at Danase (http://danase.com/poandbupaand.html). Don`t forget the 10% forum discount! (AUTOPIA-10%)

how many foam pads do you generally need to buy for detailing a car? i imagine the different color is for different grade of polishing action but can one pad be used on the entire car?

do you mostly use the PC to apply polish and remove it by hand? is there a pad to remove the polish? if so, how many of these polish-removing pads do you need for a car? i remember when i tried a random orbital buffer from kragen a long time ago and tried to use a terry bonnet to remove wax. it only worked for about half the hood before the bonnet got caked up and i had to put on a new one. those terry bonnets were rather pricy too, it left a sour taste for me ever since on these types of machines.

I have a couple Megs pads and a couple LC pads, but I tend to reach for the Propels every time now.
