Florescent work light

Was in Sears tonight & saw this small portable 13watt florescent work light. was wondering if this type could also be used or would work to highlight those nasty swirls we all don`t want to see. On sale price was $11.99.

I`d say no. I have one and use it as a trouble light. The good thing about it is the fact it doesn`t get hot. As far as detail work 13 watts just isn`t enough light. Pepboys has some double halogen lights on a stand for $25. You might want to take a look at those.
