This car belongs to a buddy of mine. He picked up the car a couple months back in rough shape. All four of the factory wheels were bent from hitting curbs and the car was disgustingly dirty. After he sent the car through the mechanic shop, we ordered the newer style M3 wheels with brand new tires for it and put them on.

The interior was pretty dirty, but in good shape underneath all the dirt. The driver seat was beginning to show some wear, so I had my interior repair guy re-dye them to look brand new. The paint was sratched up in a few spots and had tons of swirls which jumped out at you in the sunlight.

To start, I washed the entire car, wheels & wheel wells

Clayed with Kar Kraft clay bar

Degreased and detailed the engine compartment

Complete interior detail/ hit rugs with extractor

Taped up all the moldings & trim with masking tape

Buffed complete exterior w/Optimum Compound by rotary

Buffed complete exterior with Menzerna Final Polish II mixed with a little RMG

Hand application of EX

Hand application of Natty`s Blue

Super Blue dressing on tires & wheel wells

Looking real good there. Can`t even see the previous scratches. Is the moulding real to pop off? I wish I could take my moulding off an on like that. Great work man!

It is missing the molding on the right front fender. I ordered a new one from BMW.

Nice work Rick as usual. :)

Where do you get the Kar Kraft clay bars? Is that a commercial product?

Oops, I`m a little slow this morning. :) guess I should`ve been able to tell that from the other moulding pieces being taped off.

Beautiful job! :2thumbs: The color seems a bit of an odd choice to me, though (for a guy, anyway). Great detail!

how did he re-dye the seats? I was under the impression that re-dying the seats really dries them out? Looks un-real!

RickRack- Thanks for sharing this one, great job. Hope I do half as well on the `97 M3 I have coming.

How was the clear? IIRC they`re not that hard, not like trying to correct an Audi.

percynjpn- I dunno, I kinda like that color too, at least in person- I thought long and hard about one in that color, seemed like a cool color to look at closely/detail (maybe I`ve just seen too much silver ;) ). It`s the weirdly purplish gray interior that turned me off, it`s a very subtle thing, but in some light you do notice it.

:shocked Wow, that seriously looks like it was just painted! You are gifted. So where can you get Super blue dressing? Does it run in the rain? The mouldings and tires look brand new too. Im surprised how the new 18`s look on that car, they look great. And thats sort of a rare interior combo, isnt it? I just love the M cars! So how does it drive?

You `renewed` the finish on that car. Wow, that`s nice!

Your tire dressing just made it to the `try in 2006` list. I`ve seen a few posts with it, and like the look.
