A few of my relatives have their clear coat that has paritially chipped off. I first thought of wet sanding the areas to make it look more level, but I don`t know if that`s a good idea. So my question:

What is the best way to make chipping clear blend into the paint to make it look the best way possible?

are these defects rock chips or are they a form of clearcoat failure? a picture would be nice.

It`s clear coat failure, it`s stopped flaking away for the time being, i just want to make it look better. I`ll try to snap a pic of it. Has anyone even see this before?

if it`s clearcoat failure, you`re going to need a repaint. if the clear was just cracking, you could get by with using fillers, but your clear is chipping off in chunks. the only thing i can think of is wetsanding the edges down and then polishing to remove the sanding marks to smooth everything out. but once another flake comes off, your going to have to do it all over again.
